Without one of the best HDMI cables you may not be getting the most out of your TV. Perhaps you've splashed out on a 4K TV, maybe grabbing a great Black Friday deal, only to find it could look better. The key could be in getting the right HDMI cable.

While many will agree that more expensive HDMI cables don't add much over cheaper options, there are differences in types. The key, if you want 4K and HDR quality, is to make sure you have an HDMI 2.1 cable. This will have enough bandwidth to offer up to 8K at 120Hz, meaning you're pretty well future-proofed for a good while to come.

All that said, a longer cable can lose quality over the distance, so a smaller better quality cable is better than going for a longer, cheaper option. You may also want to consider a shielded cable if you plan to run it outside or near any heating.
